Of course prevention is always better than repair. But life happens, and most of us end up spending time and money trying to improve our appearance for reasons we might have avoided. Too much sun, too many calories – and normal aging — all play a role in damaging our skin and our looks. And Dr. Bruck is using modern technology and techniques to help with repairs. Lose the bruise
It takes about 48 hours for a bruise, whether from a cosmetic injection or an accident, to fully develop. A quick treatment or two from a V-Beam vascular laser can help your bruise fade in half the normal healing time, or faster.
Undo what you did
Injectable fillers are designed to plump up the skin and erase wrinkles, but if not performed by a skilled professional, the filler can make the face appear out of balance. If you were injected with hyaluronic acid fillers (Perlane, Juvéderm,Restylane), we can virtually undo the effects by injecting an enzyme that can dissolve hyaluronic acid within 24 hours. (Your body metabolizes it, so there’s no trace in your system.)
Melt your double chin
Kybella is an injection that destroys fat cells beneath the chin and was approved for use by the FDA last spring.
Two ways to make it up to your skin for too much time in the sun
- Photodynamic rejuvenation is a treatment that your doctor can use to eliminate sun damage on your face, legs and arms. It combines standard Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy for destroying unwanted pigment with a topical drug (amniolevulinic acid) that destroys abnormal and precancerous cells. Patients with moderately to severely sun-damaged skin can see improvement after two or three sessions.
- Research is showing that nonablative fractional laser treatments, used to lighten clusters of pigment on the face and chest, could also have major health benefits as a remedy for precancerous cells — while improving skin tone and fine lines at the same time.
