Treat your hands for signs of aging

hand rejuvenation

With all the attention we place on improving the appearance of our faces – treatments such as fillers, Botox, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, just to name a few – we really do seem to be able to turn back the clock on some of the most obvious signs of aging. But a lot of our efforts may go unnoticed if attention is being drawn to an area we’ve neglected to take care of (because maybe we never even thought about it), and it’s giving away our age faster than a birthday cake covered with candles: our hands.

Here’s what you can do so your hands don’t make you old

It actually starts with preventive care. It’s much easier to avoid skin damage than to try and repair it later. You can avoid unsightly spots caused from sun damage by always wearing sunscreen on your hands and arms. Even many devoted sunscreen wearers only worry about their faces and necks and completely neglect protecting their hands.

Age spots can be treated

Brown spots on the hands, also know as sun spots and liver spots, can show up as early as your 20s, depending on your skin tone, color and time spent in the sun unprotected. And they will worsen over time if you don’t use sunscreen or get them treated. Here’s how:

Photorejuvenation and chemical peels

These are two effective methods for helping you rid your hands of unattractive sunspots, formed by the excess pigment that the sun brings out. And with a few treatments over time, the effects can last a lifetime.

Laser skin resurfacing

The treatment creates tiny pinholes that encourage your skin to produce collagen and elastin. Laser treatments also help re-texture your skin, and you can see results almost immediately.

Injectable Fillers

Using some of the same injectable fillers we use for the face, we can add volume and smoothness to your hands by filling the spaces left from fat loss.

Your hands say a lot about you

Make sure they’re not giving away your age.
